Hi All,
On Sunday 11th November, 2007, a contingent of
Association Members from Hants & Dorset Branch, London & South East
Branch, and Western Region Branch, attended the tri-service Remembrance Day
Parade / Service, at the Defence College of Policing & Guarding, Southwick
Park, Fareham, Hants.
The weather was OK (-ish!) and although we were
outnumbered by the uniformed RAF contingent, there were more white berets than
red or blue ones !
Wreaths were laid by the PM (RAF) Grp. Capt. Gary
Horscroft, the PM (Army), and the PM (RN). This was followed by wreaths from
the RN Regulators Assoc., the RMP Assoc., and the RAF Police Assoc., laid by
Chairman of Hants & Dorset Branch, RAFPA, John Paice, BEM.
Regrettably, due to a breakdown in communications,
the Associations did not participate in the "formal parade", but having seen the
pace that was set, it's probably just as well!
After a short, but very apt, Service, the assembly
retired to the Officers Mess for a very welcome lunch.
If you want to take part next year, make your
decision now! It's only by supporting events like this that our Association
will be able to make progress.
Regards, Dave Wardell.
