Our self-catering studio flat comfortably accommodates 2 people and is located in the coastal resort of Cascais which is a short journey from the delightful Portuguese capital city of Lisbon and a host of other places of interest.

Access into and from the capital is easy and cheap using the train. The charming old town of Sintra with is palaces; the casino at Estoril and the home of Portuguese Grand Prix are only a short drive away. A regular train service between Cascais and Lisbon stops at all the towns along the coast route. A regular bus service also operates from Cascais to the local villages including Sintra. Additionally, a coastal path runs from Cascais to Estoril. The flat is within walking distance of the town centre and its shops, bars, cafes, restaurants and cinemas. The weekly open-air market takes places each Wednesday morning. If you enjoy playing golf then there are two excellent golf clubs in the locality. Our flat is clean well appointed and comprises a kitchenette, dinning area, hallway with ample storage space, bathroom and a spacious living room / bedroom (2 single beds conveniently stow away into a false wall unit when not required) with balcony overlooking a pine grove.

Our apartment comfortably accommodates 2 people and is located in the coastal town of Nazare , 75 miles north from Lisbon (90 minutes away by regular Express coach service) but closer to many other places of interest.

The apartment is an ideal base for your self-catering holiday and being on a hill it offers good views over the town and the sea. It is within easy walking distance of the town centre; its vast array of shops, bars, harbour, beach and a large number of excellent and reasonably priced restaurants. The weekly open-air market takes places each Friday morning (Although the indoor food market is open every morning, except Mondays, for local fruit, vegetables, fish and bread). The views from Sitio and Pederneira (the high parts of the town) are breathtaking. Less than 30 minutes away by car, you may wish to visit Caldas da Rainha, famous for its pottery and ceramics or Alcobaca, famous for its crystal glass, china and monastery. Alternatively, the impressive abbey at Batalha and Obidos, the best preserved medieval walled town in Portugal , are less than an hour away. Nazare has a well appointed indoor municipal heated pool and if you enjoy playing golf then the Praia D'el Rey Golf Club is located between Obidos and Peniche. The apartment is clean and well appointed and comprises a kitchen, living / dinning room, hallway, bathroom and 2 bedrooms each with 2 single beds and ample wardrobe space. (note - while it is possible for 4 people to book the flat we cannot unfortunately collect you from and return you to the airport in our car and as such you would need to rent a car at the airport. We will however, meet you at the airport and guide you to Nazare and back to the airport at the end of your holiday â€“ Ask us for details).

Our flats are strictly 'no-smoking' facilities. The minimum stay is for one week and we offer the following services all inclusive in the price of your holiday: We will meet you on arrival at the airport (Not between 11pm & 7am ) and take you, by car to your flat (special arrangements apply to 4 people booking Nazare as stated above). We will, providing you arrive early enough, give you a familiarisation tour of where you are staying. At the end of your holiday we will collect you from the flat and return you to the airport in time for your return flight home. Other excursions can be arranged at reasonable costs. We do not accept water-sport equipment such as surf boards, diving or wind-surfing items although golfing equipment is acceptable. Please however, tell us that you intend bringing it. While bed linen and towels are provided we do not supply beach towels. Each flat has a colour TV, a radio, cooker and fridge and is equipped with an iron, ironing board and hair-dryer.

Arranging flights to and from Portugal (Lisbon Airport) and holiday insurance is your responsibility. The price for a week (year 2008) is £295 for each flat based on 2 people sharing (Not £295 per person). If you book for 2 weeks the reduced price is £570. A deposit of £50 for each week's stay may be required upon booking, with the remaining amount payable at least 3 weeks prior to the start of your holiday. The cost of 4 people booking Nazare is £590 per week, or £1140 for 2 weeks and arrangements for renting a car between the airport - flat and return will be yours.

Our flats are ideal for the mature calmer client and also for winter breaks (not December or January) away from the harsh weather of Britain and Northern Europe. The Hotel Almar is a 9 bedroomed non-smoking establishment offering quality bed and breakfast accommodation. Situated in the popular North Bay area of Scarborough we are 2 minutes from Peasholm Park and a short walk to the Blue Flagged North Bay Beach. Scarborough is close to The North Yorkshire Moors National Park and 'Heartbeat' country.

I've just stayed for 2 nights at a B&B in Scarbrough run by a former QPD - Phil Rendell with his wife Bev. Great mine hosts with extremely clean digs and a great big breakfast. Very nice couple who just couldn't do enough for their guests. Great people skills too. They made me and the missus and our daughter most welcome. The premises is licensed and serve drinks at their little bar from 6-10pm Monday to Saturday. Anyone thinking of going up to North Yorkshire and wanting digs would be hard pushed to find much better and reasonably priced too. Give them a try and you'll be well pleased.
