Took my Jeep and Harley to Torquay for the Annual re-union of the Royal Air Force Police Association, and AGM. Thought that you may be interested in these 3 pics of me showing them to the 3 senior serving Officers who were attending, namely, the Air Commodore is the head of RAF security to include both the RAF Police and the RAF Regiment, the 2 Group Captains are the present Provost Mashal and disignate Provost Marshal. The Air Commodore made me feel really old, I was telling him about the 3 different petrol containers used during WW2, the Germans had the robust metal 4 gallon container with a flip top opener, known as a Jerry-can, the Americans had a very similar one, but with a large screw top lid, (as fitted on the back of the Jeep) known as an Ameri-can, but the British only had a 4 gallon disposable tin can, and he said, 'yes! I remember my father telling me about that'. Frank.
