Dedication Service of the new Scotland & Northern Ireland Branch Standard
The Service was held at the War Memorial Chapel in Edinburgh Castle on Saturday,19th.March,2006. The weather was absolutely splendid and a total of 67 Guests from all parts of both sides of the border and Northen Ireland attended to enjoy the day. The event was enhanced by the presence of the Provost Marshal, Air Commodore Drissell MA BSc. and his good lady,Pauline, with uniformed serving members of the Royal Air Force Police from Leuchars, Rosyth and Aldergrove. The service, conducted by The Reverend (Wing Commander) Mounsey, was quite moving and music was provided by a quintet from The Lowland Band of the Scottish Division from Redford Barracks,Edinburgh. The white berets of our Association were complimented by a representation from the Royal Military Police Association, complete with their red berets and the display of the National Association Standard further
enhanced the occasion. A deputation from local Royal Air Force Associations was also a welcome addition. In short, the feedback I have received so far, indicates that a great day was had by all. On behalf of our committee and members and from me personally I would like to thank all who attended in person and all who sent their good wishes but, unfortunately, couldn't attend. Tom Morgan
