This
is the penultimate RAF Pol(S) to RAF POL Assimilation course, 1971.
I had
just come back from Seletar and there were not many RAF POL(S) left!!
Back
row--- 1. ?? 2. Me 3. Stew Mentiply (I think that's right)
Front
Row--1. ?? 2. ?? 3. Joe Buttigee (RAF Maltese)
Stew
was ex Regulating branch and his RN stories had us in tears, also the
chap in the middle of the front row had the most incredible stories
about his piles.....and Joe (From Malta) broke his wrist in the gym the
night before we started the course and had special dispensation to
answer most of the questions during the test verbally as it was too
expensive to send him back to Malta and return at a later date, he had
broken his writing wrist!!
Spent
most of the course laughing....great set of blokes, hope you are all
still out there and well.

The
Seletar photo also include our RAFP Aux's who were the subject of
discussion on the site. Everyone is here, Station, Dog Section and
Auxiliaries (one of those white helmets and badge is now on my
desk here!!) . Know some of the faces, but too many to list. I'm right
at back at left having had to man the desk 'till the last minute whilst
the station photographer got everyone settled. If anyone wants to try
to identify anyone on the photo, please get in touch and I'll see if
its somebody I remember!!

RAF
ASUPU photo was a year before my demob. Again remember all the faces
but 50% of the names!! Oh! those oily Norton's. Most of us were
deployed later in the year on Operation Burberry, the fire strike.
